Built by Northumberland Shipbuilding Company, Howdon-on-Tyne, England, 1909. 4,390 gross tons; 370 (bp) feet long; 47 feet wide. Steam triple expansion engines, twin screw.  Service speed 14 knots.  1,420 passengers (60 first class, 60 second class, 1,300 third class).

Built for National Greek Line, in 1909 and named Patris. Piraeus-New York service. Used as a Greek hospital ship 1913. Sold to Messageries Maritimes, French flag, in 1920 and renamed Claude Chappe. Marseilles-Far East service. Scrapped on Hong Kong in 1939. [678]
